This is a very valid consideration. How could the change of a thinking pattern affect your life. Thoughts are not able to change the circumstance of your life. If you are 100 kilograms overweight what can new thoughts do about that. The situation is that you are 100kg overweight no amount of positive thinking can change this.

The importance of right thinking is its effect upon right doing. How many disastrous mistakes are made for lack of proper thought? How many of life’s failures are due to a careless and unwise selection of a business or profession?

Yet even at the most basic thinking, you could imagine that thinking positive thoughts is going to make life easier to live. It isn’t going to change the extra weight you are carrying around with you, but it will make you feel happier about life.

If you are constantly angry at yourself for being weak and unable to stick to a healthy living style then you will not be able to focus on any new goals. Anger and self-loathing are not good corner stones for positive change.

Just alone changing your thoughts will help lift your mood. Become positive about the goals you wish to achieve and the life changes you want to make. Put these into your mind. These affirmations can be a powerful tool.

Contrary to what you might believe, being happy is a state of mind. No amount of money can make you happy. The perfect partner can’t make you happy. That university education that you always wanted will not make you happy.

All of the above will give you a momentary buzz of good feelings about an achievement. Think of the high divorce rate and you can understand that there is not necessarily a perfect partnership for you. It might seem so at the beginning.

What makes you happy is the attitude. If you think you are happy, you will be regardless of your wealth, relationship or personal status. You can train your mind to be happy. You can adjust your attitude. You are in control of your attitude. You have the power. Nothing else has that power. External factors can only just give momentary relief.

Change your attitude to your life. Affirm in your mind that good things are happening to you and that good things will continue to happen to you for as long as you live. It will become so much easier to live your life than if you focus on your life being totally miserable and negative.

You might find this a quite difficult thing to do. You might have to break down years of bad habits. If you have been thinking negative thoughts about your work for a few years then how could you possibly be expected to start thinking positive thoughts.

Yet this part of your goal achieving journey is the easiest of all of the steps. It won’t cost you any money at all. It’s not hugely time consuming. You only need to spend a few minutes every day retraining your mind to be positive. And the pay off could be huge. Just try it!
